I spent this past week at my childhood home in the mountains of Northern California. It’s so quiet here—you forget what quiet sounds like living in LA—and it’s been so good for my mind to slow down. The heat has settled on the town, forcing everyone to the lake for respite. We went out on the boat on Friday night, ate chicken sandwiches and watermelon, then swam until sunset. On Saturday, we baked in the heat at a vineyard concert and drank too much wine under the stars.
