I hope you’re staying cozy and warm on this first night after daylights savings. As I write this, I’m watching the setting sun filter through my blinds, the room growing increasingly dark.
Winter is my very favorite season and, while not technically winter, the time change means it’s near. So too is a season of slowing down and turning inward. As an Enneagram 4, the shift always feels like a welcome home party, with everything moody and dressed differently in winter light.
Los Angeles winters feel particularly special, too. Maybe it’s because I finally get to wear a jacket, shuffle around the house in my wool socks, or even light a fire in our stove. It’s somewhat pretending, but it does get much colder here, and when you’ve survived months of triple-digits, even a small dip in temperature evokes a cozy demeanor.
