Wonderful thoughts. Like you, I feel most like myself when I’m experiencing being in nature. Working in my yard, pulling weeds in the garden or planting. I’m especially fond of a park near the Delaware river. I can watch airplanes take off from the Philly airport and sit on the bench my husband loved the view from before his death from cancer. I took our 15+ year old dachshund there before I put him down several months ago. He had a great life, as did my husband. They are at peace and so am I. I hold grief in one hand and am overwhelmed by gratitude in the other hand. Such a rich life of relationships!
We all get caught up in the day to day business of life. As Brother David says, we need to stop, look, go. Stop what you are doing and be present to what is around you. Look and actually take the time to see what’s going on and decide how you want to respond. Go; the action step of the response your heart says you should do.
Wow, this is an amazing piece. I am most myself in the woods, especially when I can spend hours there, just tromping around, and sometimes stopping to listen. There’s no part of me that wants to check my phone, or wonders what’s coming next. There’s no part of me that isn’t my moving body and my heartbeat in my chest. Thank you for helping me reflect on this today! ❤️🌲
Really enjoyed this piece. Your appreciation and connection to the mountains is powerful -- it comes through the page.
Curious if you're an air sign, astrologically? I'm not well-versed in the practice, but a friend of mine recently mentioned that people with air signs desire high up places, such as mountains. Earth signs, somewhere low or even underground, etc.
I personally AM suggesting we all quit our jobs and move to the mountains. :)

Wishing you all blessings and peace.

This is so beautiful, Joyce. The park sounds like such a peaceful place. Thank you for sharing.
Love this writing. I feel the most peace with myself when I’m on the water. Sitting on a jetty surrounded by water with the sounds of crashing waves.
I love picturing this. It sounds so calming.

I love this image! It's so rare these days to find those places where we can forget about our phone and be truly present. Thank you for sharing! x
Thank you so much for sharing. It reminded me of how I used to feel and could feel again😎
I love mountains more than beaches as well. Great read.

Thanks Taegan! I'm actually an Earth sign. Going to look into this more - it sounds fascinating.
Planning my first backpacking trip as an adult for this very reason. Thank you for this timely share.
Yay! Wishing you the best on your trip xx
The guitar in my hand and no one else to sing for but me--that’s when I feel I am most myself. Thank you for writing this ❤️🙏
"and no one else to sing for but me" -- so powerful. I hope you find time to play this week!
